Analysis:
By looking at these digipak adverts, I have been able to identify what the adverts have in common with the digiapak itself and how it promotes the artist. Each advert includes the album name clearly to ensure the audience know and recognise what they are looking for when buying the digipak. Some of these digipaks feature an image of the artist, however others use an icon that is also on the album. This is because some artists base their success around the fame of themselves, meaning that audiences will recognise them and build a bond with their personality, like Rihanna. However bands like Snow Patrol rely on their success through their music, meaning that a picture of the band is less important. Instead an iconic, bold image is used on their adverts that also appears through the rest of their branding so audiences can recognise what is made by Snow Patrol. I noticed that many of these adverts use black and white around the edges to make sure the adverts stands out wherever it is placed, this means the advert is versatile and will be noticed in different areas. Digipak adverts often state some of the songs that feature on the digipak, an artist website and social networking site, and release date. The digipak advert must relate to an overall theme of the whole marketing of an artist. This means that images, colours or typography could all be in common with the digipak, CD or artist website, so that the audience recognise the artist they are looking for immediately.
