Artist website analysis
After creating this Prezi, I have learnt about the simplicity of these websites and the need to use colours and images that directly relate towards the genre. I have also noticed from this research that some artists base their success around the artist themselves, relying on fame, whereas others rely on the sound of music they create.
Codes and Conventions for an artist website:
- Imagery: On all websites any imagery used is linked directly to the artist. For example, close up shots could be used to establish who the website is based around instantly. Other, more interesting websites, like Kanye West's, use imagery that fans will relate to the artist. This could be the same picture thats on their album cover or on all the promotional adverts. Even if just an object or colour is used on the homepage of a website, it will always be something relevant to the artist.
- Title: To capture the audiences attention to ensure they stay on the page, a big title is something that can do this.
