Shot List for Filming

By creating this shot list helped us to be clear on exactly what we need to film, so that when we come to filming we can use our time effectively. 

Shot List:

0:00 – 0:05  Low angle pan of trees including sky to give introduction to video. This will be using synchronous  sound that we will need to record at the same time so it fits in with the setting we film. This will be on location at stream side. 

0:05 – 0:10  Establishing shot of old house- pan down towards girl running to house, this will lead into the next shot. We want to make sure this shot includes a clear shot of the house, and then introduce the girl. The filming will need to be smooth to look professional. 

0:10 – 0:14  Wide shot of girl running up to house. This will be filmed with the camera behind the girl, filming the girl running to the house. We will pan up to reveal girl running to house then cut straight to a still shot (next shot). We are using this combination of still and moving shots to ensure the video is appealing and interesting to people watching. 

0:14 – 0:18  Over the should shot of girl opening book of photos. We need to make sure that this shot shows enough of the girl for the audience to realise its the same girl, and include enough of the book for the audience to see its photos of a childhood and memories. This shot will introduce the idea of memories and growing up. 

0:18 – 0:39  Pan of pictures on table (Zooming in and out) to show the variety of memories. As the camera moves the shot will show the journey of memories, this fits in with the lyrics. 

0:39 – 0:42  Close up high angle of singers feet walking towards camera. We want to slowly introduce the artist with this shot because we feel this fits in with the genre. Instead of having sudden shots we want to use pans and tilts for a more gentle effect. The moving camera also demonstrates the journey that we want to portray in the video. 

0:42 – 0:45  Low angle pan upwards to reveal singer. This will be filmed on location at stream side to show nature in the back ground. We want to include a lot of nature because it shows the natural journey through life. 

0:45 – 1:04  Medium close up still shot of artist face lip synching, we want this to show emotion in the artists face. The close shot will also build a connection with the audience so they feel the emotion in the song. 

1:04 – 1:16  Medium close up of young child’s face lip synching chorus (Repeat for 4 children in this section) This will demonstrate the different ages and stages we all go through in life, relating to the lyrics in the song. 

1:16 – 1:21  Wide pan shot of Weston pier- camera will pan to show the view of the pier- trying to get as much in as possible. We want this to show different ages of people because this location is known to attract young and old people. Many people have memories of beaches and piers too, so this will hopefully trigger emotion and memories for the audience, this fits in with the lyrics and narrative we want to show. 

1:21 – 1:27  Long shot of singer walking away to demonstrate the journey we go on through life, this links with the lyrics of the song and the narrative we want to show. 
1:27 - 1:47   Mixed long shots and close up of artist lip synching

1:47 – 2:03  Medium close up of teenager lip synching chorus (Repeat 4 times with different teenagers in this section). This links to the message of age, child, teen and elderly. 

2:03 – 2:10  Tracking shot of photos on table zooming in and out. Different pictures of different ages will be shown, showing the difference from the little girl up until and elderly women.

2:10 – 2:15  Low angle pan of Weston including sky- ground to the beach and then up to the sky, natural effect this will fit in with our video. 

2:15 – 2:28  Low angle of sky then pan down to reveal artist lip synching

2:28 -  2:30  Medium close up of 4 different people (different ages) fast cuts between all the different people to show the difference in ages. This will link in with the whole video to show the difference of the ages, everything will come together.

2:30 -  2:42  Medium close up of old person lip synching chorus (Repeat 4 times in this section)

2:42 – 2:54  Wide shot of artist lip synching sat down (old bench, wall)

2:54 – 3:12  Wide shot of singer walking away at the end pan up to sky
